Nigerian-raised and New York City-born fashion designer, Morounkeji Omoboni, started her brand Koj Designs in the year 2016. Her designs represent the African-American culture with African inspiration, creating high-quality pieces with timeless aesthetics. Each piece is uniquely created with the Koj signature to let people know they are one of a kind.

Her fashion inspiration came from the late Coco Chanel's famous piece, The Little Black Dress from the 1920’s. She wants to make a difference in fashion with her brand. Two other fashion moguls she admires are Rihanna from Fenty and Beyoncé from Ivy Park. She loves Rihanna’s style and likes how Beyoncé uses elastic in some of her pieces. She was also inspired by the 80’s fashion era for creative clothing.

“Do what you love without focusing on obstacles.” - Koj

Koj fashion fantasy is to host a fashion show in a tropical forest. She wants to surround an audience with the sounds of nature and give them an experience they will never forget. One of the most creative pieces in her growing career has been a maternity dress that includes a baby sling in both the front and back.
