Sandy Powell born April 7 in South London is a phenomenal costume architect we experienced in detail at the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film on Friday, December 20, 2024. The three-time BAFTAs award winner designs some of your favorite looks from your favorite films like Disney's Cinderella and Mary Poppins Returns and Acadamy Award films Shakespeare in Love, The Aviator, and The Young Victoria.

Black is Power. Black is Wealth. Black is Elegance. Black is BEAUTIFUL. Imane Ayissi's "Africa to the World" presentation was truly breathtaking. Each stitch, each pattern, and each design is a work of art. This exhibit embodies Imane's energy, contextualizing his role within Africa’s larger contributions to fashion while expanding his understanding of global luxury. Curated by creative director of SCAD FASH museums Rafael Gomes.

Ayissi's craftsmanship is a combination of French atelier in Paris and African artisans as seen in the example below with Boris Nzebo. He identifies with work that articulates his mission to illuminate untold stories of the continent.
