Atlanta native Octavius Terry opened the show with a “Kill Bill” inspired collection paying homage to martial arts and samurai cinema. Terry utilized his sense of oversized style when he produced pieces for this collection. He enjoys the way you can wear anything with fashion. As part of Atlanta Fashion Week’s first show he says the city has the potential to match with the well-known fashion empire of New York City.

Daniel Grier born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama presented his Reflection Collection on the runway. The Splash by DKG founder was inspired during the Covid-19 quarantine in 2020. With many people losing their jobs he took a look in the mirror and envisioned the future of people walking into what they aspire to be. For many major companies, the shutdowns cause them to either downgrade or go out of business completely. 2021 grew a tremendous amount of successful black-owned businesses. Most side hustlers were able to walk away from their 9-5 jobs and work full time in their passion making more money than they originally were before the lockdown. Grier wants people to walk into the reflection of themselves.
